If you have a federally funded grant, your agency will expect you to deposit peer reviewed publications and conference papers to their public access repository.  The Library’s Research Data Management Services team maintains a website of federal agency publication and data requirements Links to an external site., with links to more information and to the public access repository.   Many of these agencies have their own Public Access Repositories which researchers are required to use for depositing their publications.

It’s in your best interest to keep your publication up to date in the Public Access Repository.  RDMS and the Office of Sponsored research send out annual reminders to update your records with us.  Some of the agencies will send notices to indicate when records are not in compliance, but it is the PI's responsibility to ensure that the terms of the funders are met.

Ask us for help if you need it!  We’ve helped many PIs with their publication records, and if we don’t know how to sort it out, we’ll find someone who does!
