Module 1.2 Lectures & Reading
In this module we will do two things. First, we give you an overview of Low-Tech structures and approaches, with a focus on PALS and BDAs Secondly, and probably the most important part of this Intro class, we cover the principles that underscore recognizing healthy riverscapes, and guiding our LTPBR actions.
Objectives
- become familiar with different types of low-tech PBR structures and how they can be used to mimic, promote, and sustain natural processes
- review, discuss, and understand riverscape and restoration principles that can help identify healthy riverscapes, and inform restoration actions that will lead to sustainable, resilient, and healthy riverscapes
