Learning Objectives

  1. Learn how to create a web hosting account on http://www.000webhost.com Links to an external site. or your own LAMP based hosting site with MySQL and PHP support.
  2. Learn how to configure a MySQL database and install HydroServer Lite on your server.
  3. Learn how to customize the look and feel of HydroServer Lite including banner and other elements.
  4. Learn how to create new user accounts on HydroServer Lite
  5. Learn how to login as a user and upload data to HydroServer Lite using the web interfaces.
  6. Learn how to view graphs and tables of your data in the HydroServer Lite web interface, and how to download it for use offline. 
  7. Learn how to register your data server with HIS Central.

Computer and Data Requirements

The Problem

Using the data and instructions in the attached document (link below), create your own customized hydrologic information system web site, customize the banner, create users, load it with data, create time series graphs of your data, and explore the method for registering your site with HIS Central (though you don't need to actually register it unless you have real data to share). 

Deliverable

Create a one page summary of your results with attachments illustrating what you accomplished.
