Facilitator Certification  Breakout Room Management

Since classes are broadcasted through Zoom, breakout rooms are often utilized in our connect classes. This allows students to work more closely together despite the distance that keeps them apart. As a facilitator, we often manage breakout rooms so to instructor can focus on teaching.

  • Requirements

    1. Open a Zoom meeting on your own personal device. Once the meeting is started, connect a classroom and the facilitator computer to the call.
    2. On your personal device, open the breakout room option in Zoom and create three breakout rooms.
    3. Assign the classroom to one of the breakout rooms and the facilitator computer to another. Take a screenshot of the three breakout rooms you have created from your personal device.
    4. While the classroom and facilitator computer are in a breakout room, send a broadcasted message to all breakout rooms.
      • To share a message to the breakout rooms, simply click 'Breakout Rooms' --> 'Broadcast' --> 'Broadcast Message'
      • You will then see a text bubble at the top of the screen in all breakout rooms (It will disappear after ~10 seconds)
    5. Take a picture of one of the classroom televisions showing the broadcasted message being sent to the classroom.
 
Only registered, enrolled users can take graded quizzes
