Module 3 - Preparation for Meeting Blue Forest - Lecture & Reading

Next Friday, 2/19, from 2:00 to 5:00, Blue Forest Conservation's Links to an external site. Nick Wobbrock and Peter Wyrsch are going to come and spend 3 hours with our Capstone Class Links to an external site. and talk about Conservation Finance and resiliency bonds Links to an external site.. Some of you may be interested in attending. If you are, we will have you prepare like the Capstone students by watching the videos and reading posted here Links to an external site.. Nick and Peter's lectures will be posted on Tuesday.  If you are interested in how to scale up restoration activities, knowledge of conservation finance is pretty fundamental information.

On Friday, we will have about an hour discussion based on questions from the lecture and reading, then we will break into small groups to work through the steps in preparing and organizing a resilience bond, with the example of Mink Creek, where you will be working later this semester. You will submit an assignment (the following week, based on these in-class exercises). This is an excellent opportunity to meet some of the leaders in this field.
